Interest for Rakita’s Open House in Bor, as well as in the villages Slatina, Brestovac and Metovnica, showed close to 300 people. During four days Rakita’s representatives provided visitors with the opportunity to get acquainted with important information about the Timok project, land acquisition procedures, communication and cooperation with the local community, environmental aspects, as well as basic data on geological exploration of Cukaru Peki deposit.
The Open House in Bor was held in the hall of Primary schools “Branko Radicevic” and “Sveti Sava”. In this case, the citizens paid the greatest attention to the Project timetables, as well as the possibilities for employment in Rakita. Considering that quality communication and information exchange is one of the most important segments of good and harmonious cooperation with the local community, Open Houses have demonstrated the resolve of Rakita to be available at all times to the local population in terms of accurate and timely information about the Project.
In Slatina, where more than 100 residents of this village visited the Open House at the local House of Culture, most of the interest was for purchase procedures, that is, the sale of land parcels, then for employment, as well as for the environmental aspects of the project. The villagers were equally interested in the results of the geological research of the project, as well as for the education programs in order to start their own business.
The residents of Brestovac and Metovnica also showed an enormous interest in the Timok project. The leaders of these rural local communities are pleased that a large number of residents visited the Open House, because, according to them, this is the best way for everyone to get accurate and correct information about the Project.
